Who is a "Peer Mentor"?
A Peer Mentor is an upper-division student, which is someone beyond their first-year at Nebraska, who is in the same major, college, pre-professional path, and/or someone who shares a similar identity or interest to you! They oversee your Learning or Themed Community to be an amazing resource and guide for you throughout your first year.
Peer Mentors will provide a great deal of opportunities for you to get connected and be your most successful self, such as:
- Weekly Floor Hours to assist with studying for exams, homework and course projects, and connecting your to campus resources
- Meeting with you one-on-one to get to know you better and see how they can best guide you
- Social opportunities to bond with your community and destress from college life
- Events and trips to take you around Lincoln and beyond to explore career options and get you connected to your passions and interests.
Getting to know them is a great way to start building connections and have a support system from the beginning!
