Responsible Design: Architecture, Interior Design & Landscape Architecture

Architecture, Interior Design & Landscape Architecture

Responsible Design

Students providing maintenance to a home for a community service project

Are you interested in sustainability in design? Do you often see ways to redesign something to make it more effective or aesthetically useful? Are you interested in a career in any of the design fields offered by the College of Architecture—architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, or community and regional planning? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, Responsible Design is the community for you!

In addition to living on the same floor in the residence hall, you will take courses in computers in design (DSGN 123) and design making (DSGN 111) alongside your community peers. Beyond the classroom, you will participate in a variety of academic, career, and social activities ranging from attending the Ice Cream Social with the Dean of Architecture to engaging in service-learning projects within the greater community to touring local design firms and constructions sites to learn how current businesses approach the act of designing responsibly.
