Media Smarts

Join the Media Smarts Learning Community to gain experience and network with some of the industry’s leaders in advertising & public relations, journalism, and broadcasting. To make the transition to college a little bit easier, members of the Media Smarts Learning Community will live in Abel Hall and take courses with other members! You will also have the opportunity to connect with professors, upperclassmen students and alumni working in both the College of Journalism and Mass Communications and in the media.

There will also be outings to visit and tour local media outlets and ad agencies. Possible tours include the Lincoln Journal Star and the Channel 8 KLKN-TV station, Archrival and Swanson Russell. Along with visiting local companies, the Big Trip is offered each year in an exciting location with the chance to tour agencies and media outlets within various areas of mass communications.
