Pressbox Sports Media and Communication

Apply by May 1

Do you see yourself as an investigative journalist or a TV reporter who asks the hard-hitting questions in interviews? Or maybe a marketing and events specialist that has a passion for sports? If so, UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communication’s newest major, Sports Media & Communication might just be for you! As a freshman, you can have the chance to join the PressBox Learning Community for the Sports Media & Communication major to gain insight into the industry. With being a part of a learning community, you will live in the same residence hall and take courses with other members to help make the transition into college life a little easier!

In the learning community, you will have the opportunity to meet other students interested in sports media while getting hands on experience. The learning community will also allow you to network with local sports news outlets and meet media relations personnel, as well as tour HuskerVision, NET's remote sports broadcasting truck, and UNL's Sports Information office. You’ll be a part of the action from day one!
