Pressbox Sports Media and Communication

Apply by May 1

Do you see yourself as a sports broadcaster in the future? Someone who covers the latest news on sports and gives all the highlights! Or maybe a marketing and events specialist that has a passion for sports? If so, Pressbox: Sports Media and Communication is for you!

By joining the community, you'll be able to live in Abel Hall together to have a built-in support network to make UNL feel like home - including students in Media Smarts: Broadcasting, Journalism, Advertising, & PR. Also, you'll have additional academic support in the classroom by taking courses together with your community to ensure you are as successful as can be your first year.

Participating in the community allows you to have the opportunity to meet other students interested in sports media and communication while getting hands-on experience and learning about the variety of career opportunities you have access to in the future. Some events you'll see may include tours of HuskerVision and UNL's Sports Information Office, visiting NET's remote sports broadcasting truck, and taking a trip to Kansas City to meet with the team behind "Sporting Kansas City," Kansas City's professional soccer team.

Visit the College of Journalism and Mass Communications (CoJMC) to learn about the Sports Media and Communication major.
